PODIUMART WORKSHOP :
OPEN YOUR HEART, MOVE THAT BODY AND LET YOUR SOUL SPEAK!!!
Marieke Hagemans
During the black plague in Europe (1347 – 1352) a group of young people in Italy, went into quarantine and told each other stories to dispel boredom.
The stories are written down by the Italian poet and scientist Giovanni Boccacio ‘The Decamerone’.
The purpose of this week:
Step 1 Orient
Read one or some stories of The Decamerone. You will see that the stories are typical stories from the middle ages but it is nice to read the typical problems and humor in that ages.
Step 2 research
Search a place in your house or outside. A place where you can hide yourself and where you feel nice. At this place you’ll write a short story or script of your personal experiences during your minor in times of Corona. It will be nice when the story has some imperfections about yourself inside. Research your feelings about it. Self-reflection and humor are important ingredients in your story. Don’t make it to big! A little event can make a beautiful story or script. Exaggeration is not forbidden because the basic elements of The Decamerone is exaggeration. Exaggeration is love, sex, lies, family stuff, etcetera.
Step 3 perform
When you’ve finished your story you can make a short movie about it. A movie of maximum 5 minutes who tells a part of your story in times of Corona.
You can use fellow players, for example your family of friends, you can use music, etcetera.
You can use props, clothes, grime, different perspectives of filming, slow motion, exaggeration, etcetera.
You can make a vlog, a commercial, a news item and of course a short movie.
Step 4 evaluate
When your finished you’ll send your movie to the portal of the Bildungsweek Drama and we will see the movies of the students Drama and we’ll discuss about it afterwards.
Enjoy! Laugh at yourself and love yourself!
